Position Overview:
We're looking for a detail-driven Assistant Controller to oversee core accounting functions and partner with leadership to ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This person will supervise a small team, manage month-end closes, and help scale our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general ledger activity, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and account reconciliations

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes and reporting timelines

  • Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and growth

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and regulatory compliance

  • Coordinate audits and lead response efforts

  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes

  • Assist in budget planning and monitor financial performance through variance analysis

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align financial processes with business goals

  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

  • CPA or CMA designation preferred

  • 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and handle multiple tasks
