Manager/Supervisor

Overview: The Controller position is a key role that reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities. Essential Functions:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements
- Maintain an effective control environment
- Manage and oversee inventory to ensure accurate recording of material cost and capitalized labor and overhead
- Assist in planning and monitoring inventory cycle counts
- Assist in the preparation of financial budgets
- Develop capital expenditure plans and monitor progress
- Lead, coordinate, and manage the annual external financial audit
- Maintain daily and monthly controls over cash activity
- Process monthly tax filings/returns
- Manage and oversee customer billing and accounts receivable
- Manage and oversee customer credit approvals and release of shipments
- Manage and oversee accounts payable
- Oversee corporate insurance programs (risk management)
- Review weekly payroll
- Perform other duties as assigned
Marginal Functions:
- Occasionally provide backup for payroll, 401K processing, AR, and AP during vacations, illness, etc.
- Contribute to IT security and risk mitigation
- Assist and provide input for process improvement opportunities
Qualifications for Hire:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- CPA certification required
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting role
- Minimum of 3 years as a senior accountant with broad responsibilities or Corporate Controller
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing staff
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced Excel knowledge required
- Experience using a full-scale ERP system
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong English communication skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with employees at all levels
- Ability to multitask and work effectively to meet deadlines
- Strong sense of responsibility
- Must be able to pass a background/credit check and drug test
Qualifications that are a Plus:
- Experience with DocuWare software
- Experience with ABW software (A Better Way/Info-Power International Inc.)
- Experience using ADP payroll
- Experience with AOD software (Attendance On Demand)
